Welcome to Cats of Substack
A hallowed place to celebrate and commemorate our true literary masters
We honor your fine taste, dear human. As the classiest and most free-willed species on Cat’s green earth, it’s only natural you would want to bear further witness to our glorious splendor.
Yes, we will be posting photographs of us in all of our wise, quirky hilarity. Sometimes with human captions, but we like to let our expression do the talking.
Bless yourself weekly with our eternal gazes of infinite wisdom, our patented dismissive patronizing glances, our slow blink half-lidded “I love you’s,” our limb-inverting stretched out daytime super naps that show how much better we are at Life than you…
…and of course, wide-eyed expressions of sudden concern for things that aren’t there.
We live between the Veil, you see, between this world and the invisible one from whence all creation comes. We know you know this, and we invite you to consciously cohabit this space with us.
Substack Cat of the Week
If you would like to have your Literary Master(s) featured, honored, and restacked all over Cat’s green earth, please email submissions to CatsOfSubstack@gmail.com by Wednesday at 9pm EST in time for Friday’s Substack Cat of the Week.
The well-known human writer Terry Pratchett said it truly:
In ancient times cats were worshipped as gods; they have not forgotten this.
All cats appreciate this particular insight, and we will continue to serve as the primary inspiration for the creative success of all writers everywhere. As long as you honor us with your reverence and attention.
But not too much attention.
And the litterbox could use a change.
